Woodlawn Elementary PTA hosted Turkey Bingo on November 18th! Wildcats were able to join in the fun and win some amazing prizes.
3rd Grade Water Ecology Science Lab

Students in Grade 3 are learning about water ecology. Today in science lab, we went outside to explore where water goes when it rains. Students were able to see how some water is absorbed into the earth and some water flows downstream as runoff. Next, we will explore how pollution is carried by water from one place to another.
First Graders Bring Reading to Life During Recess

Woodlawn first graders learned and watched how to put up a tent and then got to go inside and play for a few minutes. In our UFLI curriculum there are several decodable readers that are about tents or camping. We took a poll in our Walk to Reading intervention block and found out that not many students had experience with a tent yet. So, we brought reading to life during recess!
2023-2024 Woodlawn Veterans Day Celebration

Woodlawn Elementary was honored to have our Veterans celebrate Veterans Day with us! Woodlawn Veterans led the Pledge of Allegiance with their students and marched in our Parade of Veterans. We also had a special performance by the Woodlawn Chorus. Thank you to all Veterans for serving our nation!
Leaf Rubbings in 1st Grade Science

First Graders started their fall science unit by looking at leaves, their colors and shapes and then doing leaf rubbings. Everyone enjoyed exploring how some leaves change their colors and why.

Woodlawn 2nd Grade Butterfly Release

Woodlawn students released their butterflies this week! Caterpillars were harvested from our garden and dutifully cared for until their flying hour arrived. Have a safe journey Monarchs and Question Mark butterflies!

Woodlawn Back to School Night 2023-2024

Woodlawn Elementary School hosted the 2023-2024 Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 5th. Families were able to learn about the curriculum, upcoming events, and meet the Woodlawn staff. Pop Into Summer Family Literacy Night 2022-2023 was held on June 7th to provide students an opportunity to gather around books with family and friends and eat some yummy popsicles! Student took home free books for the summer months while they’re away from school.
