Our First Grade Teachers

  • Learning Disabilities Teacher, ES
  • Grades 1-3 Teacher, ES
My name is Mrs. Brown-Myett and I am a 1st grade teacher. This is my 11th year teaching and my 2nd year in Fairfax. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College.
  • Grades 1-3 Teacher, ES

This will be my third year teaching at Woodlawn Elementary. It has been a gift to come back and teach in the same school I grew up in and share the Woodlawn experience with my own children. I owe my love of teaching and reading to my fourth grade teacher; Mrs. Miller (it was in her class here at Woodlawn that I decided I wanted to be a teacher), to my own four children and to the countless students I have been so lucky and blessed to have learn beside and grow with on this journey. The classroom is always my second home. "Books may well be the only true magic."-- Alicia Hoffman.

  • Grades 1-3 Teacher, ES
This is my 12th year at Woodlawn Elementary! I grew up in FCPS and graduated from James Madison University.
  • ESOL Teacher, ES
I have been teaching ESOL for the past 20 years. I enjoy working with primary students from different backgrounds. I am originally from Panama. A resident in Virginia for the past 23 years. My hobbies are dancing, traveling and swimming.
