January is National Mentoring Month. At Woodlawn, about 25 staff members volunteer their time each week to meet with an assigned student mentee.

Mr. Dunlevy’s 3rd grade and Ms. Summers' 5th grade classes participated in a marble run challenge using Keva Planks. They were using math to count the planks and determine how steep the slope would be to give the marble more kinetic energy and make it to the end.

“As a company of inventors, Qualcomm cares deeply about STEM. Through our Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab ™ program, we aim to show students from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds that they can be part of inventing the wireless world of the future. In our Tech for Good Summer Camp, Students learn to build circuits for and to program LEDs and Servo motors. In their project, they take inspiration from Qualcomm® Wireless Reach™ initiatives to invent an automated prototype to represent a solution to a real-world problem.”
