Qualcomm sponsored an Inventors Camp from 26 to 30 July 2021 at Woodlawn Elementary School.  Twelve 4th - 6th Grade Students learned about various careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).  They explored problems facing our world and looked at ways to apply STEM fields to alleviate those problems.  Along the way, they learned about problem-solving, teamwork, iterative design, the US Patent Process, the C++ programming language.  They worked on Circuits as “Electrical Engineers”, made a basic computer program as “Computer Scientists”, and built/programmed their prototype inventions as “Mechanical Engineers”.  Lastly, they recorded video presentations of their inventions to present to Qualcomm Engineers for approval.  All this in a week.  Imagine what these students will do in a year.  Keep your eyes on them.
