Three-Hour Early Release Monday February 10thFor the upcoming early release day on Monday, February 10th, we will default to your child's dismissal preference from the last early release Monday in November.
- If your child was dismissed at 1:00 PM previously, we will automatically dismiss them at 1:00 PM on February 10th.
- If your child remained at school previously, we will automatically keep them until 4:00 PM on February 10th.
A reminder message will be sent through Talking Points on Tuesday, January 21st.
- To change your child's dismissal time for February 10th, please contact the main office at 703-619-4800 by Wednesday, February 5th.
- This will allow staff to plan for a safe and organized dismissal process on Monday, February 10th.

Parents/caregivers may register their children online for kindergarten through 12th grade.

Office of the Ombuds: At Your Service!Ombuds help resolve disagreements between parents/caregivers and schools.
Ombuds work as an independent confidential resource to help get answers to questions, resolve concerns, and hear complaints regarding FCPS matters.
They do not change or make decisions, policies, or regulations; take sides; or provide legal advice.

Parent Coffee Talk on Financial LiteracyJoin our FREE seminar, "Blueprint for Financial Success," on Monday, February 10th at 9:30 AM at Woodlawn Elementary School.

Family Food Markets at Riverside Elementary- Capital Area Food Bank is hosting family food markets at Riverside Elementary once a month until the end of the school year.
- Shelf-stable food items and produce will be provided at no cost.
- The next market will be on February 4.
- The markets open at 9:30 am and 5:30 pm.
- Riverside Elementary School is located at 8410 Old Mount Vernon Road, Alexandria, VA 22309.
- Capital Area Food Bank is hosting fresh food markets at Bucknell Elementary once a month until the end of the school year.
- Fresh vegetables and fruits will be distributed at these markets.
- The next market will be on February 22.
- The markets open at 10:30 am and stay open until the food is gone.
- Bucknell Elementary School is located at 6925 University Drive, Alexandria, VA 22307.
- The markets will be at the front of the school by door 2. If it is raining, the markets will be in the back of the school by door 9.
- We encourage our students to continue learning at home using some digital tools such as Lexia, ST Math (grades K-2), iXL Math (grades 3 -6), and iXL science (grade 5).
- Students can access these tools on a platform called Clever.
