Three-Hour Early Release Monday March 10thFor the early release day on Monday, March 10th, we will default to your child's dismissal preference from the last early release Monday.

Reminder messages will be sent through Talking Points on February 20th and March 4th.
Scholastic Book FairWoodlawn will host the Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, March 3rd to Friday, March 7th.
Hosted by our staff, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading.
As always, all purchases benefit our school.
Book Fair Family Night will be held on Wednesday, March 5th in the Woodlawn cafeteria from 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm.
Literacy NightFamilies with kindergarten - second grade students are invited to our Literacy Night!
- Wednesday, March 12th at Woodlawn Elementary from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
- Take home FREE books and resources to help your child read at home.
- Experience a reading lesson in your child's classroom.
- FREE pizza will be served.
- Woodlawn will be hosting our first Multicultural Night in 3 years!

- This April, we proudly recognize Month of the Military Child at Woodlawn!
- We want to take this time to honor all the amazing students who come from military families.
- There will be a spirit week celebrating MOMC April 7 - April 11.
Registration will be available soon for summer camps offered by Fairfax County Public Schools for all students. Career and Technical Education (CTE) camps and Institute for the Arts (IFTA) camps will be held in July at Lake Braddock Secondary School from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bus transportation will be available from select FCPS middle and high schools. Registration begins for these programs on Monday, March 10, and ends Friday, June 6.
Tech Adventure Camp (TAC) is a week-long exploratory camp designed to allow current K-5 students to explore activities in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), culinary arts, health, trades, and business and marketing areas. Watch this video about CTE camps.
E-IFTA is a weekly arts camp for students in grades 2-5 who love to sing, dance, act, perform, make, and create. Students take part in four daily classes related to dance, music, theater, and visual art. They work with FCPS fine arts teachers who create fun and engaging classes.

Family Food Markets at Riverside Elementary- Capital Area Food Bank is hosting family food markets at Riverside Elementary once a month until the end of the school year.
- Shelf-stable food items and produce will be provided at no cost.
- The next market will be on March 4.
- Future dates are April 8, May 6, and June 3.
- The markets open at 9:30 am and 5:30 pm.
- Riverside Elementary School is located at 8410 Old Mount Vernon Road, Alexandria, VA 22309.
- Capital Area Food Bank is hosting fresh food markets at Bucknell Elementary once a month until the end of the school year.
- Fresh vegetables and fruits will be distributed at these markets.
- The next market will be on March 19.
- Future dates are April 9, May 21, and June 4.
- The markets open at 10:30 am and stay open until the food is gone.
- Bucknell Elementary School is located at 6925 University Drive, Alexandria, VA 22307.
- The markets will be at the front of the school by door 2. If it is raining, the markets will be in the back of the school by door 9.
- We encourage our students to continue learning at home using some digital tools such as Lexia, ST Math (grades K-2), iXL Math (grades 3 -6), and iXL science (grade 5).
- Students can access these tools on a platform called Clever.
