Ladybug Life Cycle Fun with 3rd Grade
3rd grade classes have been studying the life cycle and feeding habits of Ladybugs! We learned that they begin life as an egg, which hatches into a larvae. The larvae eat small insects like aphids. Then the larvae develop into a pupa and the adult ladybug hatches a few days later. Ladybugs are indigenous to Virginia and help gardeners by eating pest insects so we released them into their natural habitat.
