Dear Woodlawn Elementary School Staff, Parents and Community:

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Ms. Laura Elliott has been appointed as principal of Woodlawn Elementary School, effective April 15, 2019.  She is currently serving as the principal of Triangle Elementary School in Prince William County.  Ms. Elliott brings a wealth of experience including the time she has served as an assistant principal and instructional coach here in Fairfax County Public Schools.  She was also in the central office serving as an educational specialist and as a coordinator for elementary school support.

Ms. Elliott earned her Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University and an Education Specialist degree in Education Administration and Supervision from The University of Virginia.  Her Virginia professional license is in Administration and Supervision certification and English as a Second Language; both K-12 and Elementary Education K-8.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Elliott back to FCPS and Region 3 as the new principal of Woodlawn Elementary School!  She looks forward to joining this incredible community and working closely together with students, families, and staff to cultivate a warm, safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
