4th and 5th graders are studying the Ocean in their science classes right now.  In the science lab, they were able to take their 2D drawings of the ocean floor and turn them into 3D playdough models.  Notice how every drawing is a little different from the next, that it because students are learning that the real ocean floor has a variety of different shapes and features.  As an extension activity, some students were also able to build and explore a giant cardboard floor model.
