This April, we proudly recognize Month of the Military Child at Woodlawn! We want to take this time to honor all the amazing students who come from military families. Check out some of the ways we recognize these special Wildcats.

Students in grades 3-6 will take the Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments this Spring.

Be sure to check the SOL schedule for specific testing dates and details for your student's grade.

Take a deep breath! It's Mindful Minute Time! Close your eyes, wiggle your toes, and let's focus on our amazing minds. Just a few minutes of calm can help you feel ready to learn and conquer the day!

Register for the Family Summit at Marshall High School on Saturday, April 20. The summit is designed for all families and will focus on providing social-emotional resources for topics such as raising resilient children and making meaningful connections. Also, resources will be available online for families of students with disabilities.

Throughout FCPS, we are recognizing the important role military children play in the armed forces community. Remember to Purple Up! on Wednesday, April 17--wear purple to celebrate military-connected youth. Read more, view slideshow, and watch videos.

FCPS is exploring options for adjusting middle school start times and invites the public to be part of the process. Prismatic Services, Inc., an educational consulting firm, will lead the forums.

Join the superintendent in April and May for a series of Community Conversations. Your voice matters! Share your thoughts about FCPS and bring your questions.

Register now for FCPS summer camps, including Tech Adventure Camp for current grade K-5 students, Elementary Institute for the Arts (EIFTA) for current grade 2-5 students, Institute for the Arts (IFTA) for current grade 6-11 students, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Summer Academy for current grade 6-11 students.

Students have unlimited access to online tutoring support services through Tutor.com at no cost to families. Students can connect online any time, any place, and in most K-12 subjects for however long they need. Tutoring may be on-demand or scheduled at a time convenient for the student and/or family.
